Julien Rieutort - Memory Palace

April 02, 2021 by Gergo Farkas

There’s an ancient mnemonic technique called the “Memory Palace” that consists in mentally recreating a visual path of well-known places to associate them with a list of new elements positioned along the way.

Inspired by this technique, I’ve initiated a photographic work about memory. An introspective series in which I explore, in the form of souvenirs, sometimes deconstructed and abstract, sometimes constructed and precise ; the cartography of my own memory. A journey through childhood memories, daily tracks and hazardous situations.
