Lucas Santo - Recanto

July 22, 2021 by Gergo Farkas

Recanto is my home, it's the name of my neighbourhood, I've been living here for as long as I can remember. A neighbourhood in a small Brazilian city. A young city growing up. Changes, arrivals and departures. Our identity changes, but it cannot be lost. Who was here? During the quarantine, I thought a lot about where I live and how everything has changed, it feels like we've been swallowed up, childhood people aren't here anymore. Growth is necessary, as is recording development. It's the history of the place. In this project, I photographed 3 black men who grew up and still live in Recanto, as a way to register our generation and contribute to the neighbourhood’s history.
