Katya Teller - Shelter

October 07, 2022 by Gergo Farkas

This series was made on black and white Ilford film this spring. After Russia started a full scale war in Ukraine on the 24th of February I had to leave my home in Kyiv and look for a safer place. During three months I was staying in a small town closer to western part of the country and was filming local nature, trying to capture its calm and melancholic beauty. This place became my shelter (that's why I gave same name to the project). It gave me safety, ability to sleep at night, to look around and see beauty and harmony, not only horror and pain.

Katya is currently staying in Kyiv, Ukraine and working on a new series dedicated to the psychological transformations caused by war.
