Alessio Pellicoro - À l'ombre des forêts
My work in the Urbino botanical garden has evolved by examining, day by day, how this system works in every specific component, from the scientific and purely practical maintenance to the natural ones. My continuous passage in the laboratories and then reaching outside through the garden paths, gave me the opportunity to see how this macro-space is made up of elements that act synergistically, essential for each other. I thus ascertained how effectively the garden can become the tangible symptom of a direct and constant exchange between the designers and the living species inside. Scientists and gardeners collaborate by protecting and examining the life that continues to expand and change within the walls, in the shadow of a city that jealously guards this treasure, just as a flower is protected by the majestic shadow of a forest tree. “À l'ombre des forêts” is a visual atlas of the relationship between man and nature, which hybridize under the pretext of science, becoming collaborators in a project that cannot be considered completed because it is alive and is destined to evolve daily.
