Chiara Talacci & Giuditta Vettese - How Do You Burn?
This work arises from the immense fascination that fire exerts. Fire is a living thing, in power to act: to burn, to consume, to melt, to heat, to revive. Fire is a movement and as such marks time. It has always been tamed and contained in various ways. One of these ways is in the object-candle. The candle decorates the fire with form and colour, making it at the same time portable. With the candle, fire can enter our lives, our private worlds. These candles come from the historical Subirá waxworks in Barcelona. We imagined for them 5 worlds in which they find one of their possible identities.
