Purgatory, Paradise is an ongoing photography series documenting civic and commercial architecture across the American landscape — strip malls, municipal buildings, corporate centers — photographed on medium format film in moments of stillness. These are spaces built to communicate permanence and collective identity that now feel suspended between familiarity and estrangement. The series considers what happens to architecture when the confidence that built it quietly runs out.
