Georgiana Feidi - Chrysalis
Chrysalis considers our planet Earth as a living entity, undergoing its own cycles of rest, regeneration, and transformation. The series portrays the Earth in a state of slumber, presenting nature as an active system in continuous becoming. Through thoughtful editing techniques and a restrained blue tonal range, I explore the interdependence between human presence and natural processes. The human body appears as a state of transition - a symbol of permeability and change, mirroring natural processes of renewal. Chrysalis examines gradual shifts and states of suspension, where stillness contains movement beneath the surface. The series reflects on cyclical time as opposed to linear progress, proposing that change is constant. This series invites reflection on the delicate processes of renewal that govern both nature and ourselves. Just as the chrysalis shelters a transformation in silence, so too does the Earth move through its own rhythms, inviting us to recognize our place within its ongoing process of becoming.
