Skaidrė Rudokaitė - A Faint Drift of the Universe

Born in a small town in Lithunia, Skaidrė Rudokaitė moved to London in 2016 to study photography. Still based out of London, Skaidrė uses photography as an exploration of both her personal experiences and the human condition through a philosophical lens. Nature and travelling are her muses, but she always searches for poetry in her surroundings, no matter how ordinary the subject might seem at first glance. Her work is influenced by photographers Rinko Kawauchi, Vitas Luckus and Stephen Shore.

About A Faint Drift of the Universe– words by Skaidrė Rudokaitė:

A Faint Drift of the Universe explores the beauty of awakening the sense of wonder. It is a visual expression of detaching from the practicalities of life and suddenly seeing everything anew - like a child, mesmerized by the simplest little happenings of the world. The grievances of everyday life are given colour through moments of particular sensitivity and spiritual connection to nature as well as higher energies surrounding us. This series intends to merge the realism of what is around the corner and surrealism of being enchanted by those ordinary subjects. The camera acts as a tool for self-reflection which brings further awareness to the fleeting aspect of life and honours even the smallest occurrences of beauty.
